Survey Technician

The Survey Technician performs planning, engineering, construction and right-of-way surveying and related computational work in the field to support the planning, design, construction and maintenance of Water Authority facilities; and performs related duties as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a solid technical and surveying background. This person will be an outstanding collaborator, with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers and consultants. Knowledge of GIS technology, manual drafting, AutoCAD and Carlson software is desirable. The ability to create topographic mapping from drone photography is a plus.
Qualification Guidelines
The qualification guidelines generally describe the knowledge and ability required to enter the job in order to successfully perform the assigned duties. Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in civil engineering drafting and surveying, engineering mathematics or related fields; and two years of responsible sub professional surveying experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Licenses and Other Requirements
A valid California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Water Authority’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.
