About the Position and Department
This position is a part of the Administrative Services Department and reports directly to the Purchasing and Facilities Manager. The Administrative Services Department is responsible for Geographical Information Systems, Human Resources, Information Technology, Safety and Security, and Purchasing and Facilities, and has a staff of approximately 24 employees. This position is a member of a dedicated, service-oriented team where collaboration and leadership are promoted at all levels.

Examples of Duties
Essential Functions:
- Plans, implements, coordinates and documents the activities and programs of the warehouse, inventory and fuel island.
- Ensures proper inventory levels; sources vendors; performs price and cost analyses; obtains quotes; places orders; receives and issues inventory and non-inventory items.
- Receives supplies, materials, parts and equipment; verifies items received against invoices, shipping documents, packing slips and purchase orders; assists Accounts Payable with invoice reconciliation.
- Maintains a comprehensive computer-based inventory system; maintains inventory controls; performs periodic inventory counts and year-end reconciliations.
- As directed by supervisor, assists with maintaining the fuel island within regulatory and operational standards; updates and maintains records; places and receives fuel orders.
- Organizes and stages materials and equipment for maintenance crews; completes scheduled work orders.
- Maintains a safe and clean warehouse environment; inspects, maintains, repairs and replaces tools and equipment.
- Operates and trains others in the safe and proper operation of warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jack, hydraulic lift and electric vehicle.
- Maintains a variety of computerized reports; compiles data and creates reports as needed.
- Identifies parts and tools as requested by user departments; researches and stays current on sources for materials, supplies, tools and equipment.
- Readily shares knowledge and insight while coordinating with user departments to determine inventory items, levels and the feasibility of substitutions and alternates.
- Identifies, collects, documents and oversees the disposal of surplus and e-waste items in accordance with District policy and governing regulations.
- Operates District vehicles as required.

Required Licenses and/or Certifications
A valid California Driver’s License and safe driving record.
Forklift Certification required within three (3) months of employment.
Water Distribution Grade I certificate issued by the California State Water Resource Control Board, desirable.
Collection System Maintenance Grade I certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association (CWEA), desirable.
Minimum Experience, Education, and Training Requirements
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in warehouse operation, maintenance, and deliveries/pick up.
Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
This position will be subject to random drug testing during employment.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
